All Rovers built after 1993 The main problem with Rover systems is the position of the ECU, right next to the ignition coil. This causes problems if the wronge grade of spark plug is fitted this will blow the ECU and cause high reving/hesitations and engine stalling. The ECU can often hold the main relay on after the ignition has been switched off and drain the battery over night. The only fix is to replace the ECU.
